What can be answered now—and what must be confirmed.
These answers explain the normal sourcing boundary. A written quotation, approved sample and confirmed order documents take priority for a specific transaction.
01MaterialWhat is ramie fabric?
Ramie fabric uses fibre from the stems of the ramie plant, Boehmeria nivea. The fibre name alone does not tell you the fabric weight, construction, finish or opacity. Check the composition and specification of the selected quality, then review a physical sample.
02SelectionDoes a higher GSM mean a better fabric?
GSM is fabric weight in grams per square metre, not a quality grade. Compare composition, construction, finish and intended garment as well as weight. Review drape, body and opacity on the selected sample before choosing.
03SpecificationDoes the listed width mean usable cutting width?
Confirm whether the stated width includes the selvedges or refers to usable cutting width. Ask for the applicable width basis and tolerance before calculating fabric consumption. Do not assume that two suppliers use the same width convention.
04SamplingCan I request swatches before placing a bulk order?
Yes. A4 swatches are free (up to 5 colours per quality); the buyer pays courier cost. Sample yardage is USD 8 per metre from 1 m, and the fee is deducted from a bulk order. In-stock samples are usually dispatched the same day; confirm availability for the selected SKU and color.
05CommercialDo you support small trial orders?
Stock colours start at 1 roll per colour (approximately 50 m); custom dyeing starts at 800 m per colour; new development starts at 2,000 m per quality. Standard lead times are 3–5 days after payment for stock, 15–20 days for custom dyeing, and 30–40 days after sample approval for new development. Lyocell Linen 133 GSM custom dyeing is 18–22 days. Allow an extra 5–7 days during March–May; confirm the selected quality and delivery details in writing.
06DevelopmentCan you develop a custom color?
Custom color can be discussed. Final color is confirmed through a physical color standard or approved sample.
07QualityAre test reports available?
Test data is available for many products. The applicable report and any additional testing requirement should be confirmed for the selected quality.
08DocumentsCan you provide raw-material documents?
Raw-material purchasing documents can be provided according to the product and order requirement.
09TerminologyIs TENCEL™ the same as lyocell?
No. TENCEL™ is a Lenzing brand. We use the generic term lyocell unless genuine branded fiber and applicable documentation support trademark use.
10ColorWill screen colors match the bulk fabric?
No screen image can serve as final color approval. Physical color cards and confirmed samples take priority.
11QuotationWhat information should I send for a quotation?
Send the SKU or reference, composition, GSM, intended application, color, finishing, quantity, destination market and required timing.
